There are a multitude of policy issues facing the bleeding disorders community. As a grassroots organization, we support the community by providing information and tools to participate in monitoring, advocating, and supporting federal and state public policies that impact the lives of people living with bleeding disorders.

Access to Care
The Bleeding disorders community needs affordable access to providers, treatments and products for the most efficient and effective treatment of bleeding disorders. HFA advocates for insurance coverage for the full spectrum of treatments and medical services at the appropriate site of care. Learn more

Consumers need access to accurate information and a voice in holding manufacturers and the federal government accountable for providing safe therapies, which is key to better health outcomes. Learn more
Data Collection
Data provides the foundation for improved and accurate understanding of bleeding disorders by providers, payers, and other stakeholder to improve the health and health outcomes of the bleeding disorders community. This process must include individuals with bleeding disorders and their families. Learn more
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)
HFA believes that the implementation of the ACA should provide every American, especially individuals with a bleeding disorders access to a health care system that is high-quality, affordable and comprehensive. There are several provisions within the law that HFA supports. Learn more
