A healthy diet consists of a variety of nutrient-packed foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, and lean protein sources. These healthful foods provide the carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, and fiber needed for a healthy mind and body.

A healthy diet includes the essential nutrients that help to reduce your risk of developing chronic diseases, such as heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), and diabetes.   Yet a healthy diet does not provide too many calories, so you can control your weight and avoid obesity and its related health problems. The reason it is important to eat healthy if you have a bleeding disorder is because healthy nutrients can help you build strong muscle, keep your bones strong and healthy, help you feel better faster if you have a bleed or get sick.
