HFA was founded for families by families.
Parenting is no easy task. Parents today face challenges that their own parents could have never imagined. This is where HFA Families comes in, serving as a community sounding board both for parents with bleeding disorders, and for parents of children with bleeding disorders.
The HFA Families program includes the Dads in Action, Moms in Action, and Kids in Action programs. Since 1997, Families has helped to serve an unmet need in the community both providing national and local educational training and resources to help families build strong bonds with their children, tools to improve advocacy skills, and offer a place for belonging and support through:
- Online toolkits
- Quarterly webinars
- More than 70 annual HFA member organization meetings across the country
You are not alone raising a child with a bleeding disorder. HFA is dedicated to help you along each step of this journey!
Why Should I Get Involved with HFA Families?
Here’s what other parents have to say about HFA Families events and resources:
“HFA’s Dads in Action program helps me to be a better father to my teenager with hemophilia.” -Sam, father of 14 year-old with hemophilia
“I am fairly new to hemophilia. The stories HFA shares help me prepare for what is to come.” -Karen, mother of 7 year-old with severe hemophilia
“HFA has given the encouragement and support to try things I never imagined I could do.” -Doug, father of two daughters with vWD
