What’s happening?

Leaders in Congress are moving too far, too fast. They’ve proposed hundreds of billions in cuts to Medicaid—cuts that would terminate health coverage for millions of people. That includes individuals in our own bleeding disorders community.

All this to pay for new tax breaks that benefit only the wealthy and big corporations. These cuts won’t lower healthcare costs; they’ll only deepen the crisis for those who can least afford it.

Last week, the House passed a budget package that includes every healthcare cut we’ve fought against. Even protections like premium tax credits were rejected.

If this bill becomes law, it will terminate essential healthcare protections for millions—especially those of us with chronic conditions who get our health insurance through Medicaid.

But this fight is not over.

House leadership pushed to pass this bill as quickly as possible but major hurdles remain—including a likely showdown in the Senate.
