HFA's WIRED Project

Feeling disconnected from knowledge about women鈥檚 health and research? Get WIRED with HFA!

HFA is seeking women with bleeding disorders (or symptoms of a bleeding disorder) interested in learning more about self-advocacy and patient-centered research! HFA鈥檚 Research Team has been awarded a Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Eugene Washington Engagement Award to fund the WIRED (Women in Research Engaged while Distanced) project, which will be used to create the WIRED Academy.

What is the WIRED Academy?

The objective of the Academy will be to provide tools, information, and networking opportunities for women to be their own advocates for their health and to be empowered to participate in patient-centered research.

How can I get into the Academy?

To learn more about the Academy and to submit an application to participate! The application should take 5-7 minutes to complete.

What will I get from participating in the Academy?

Women selected to participate will receive information about female bleeding disorders as well as the research process and why it is important to advocate for more research on women with bleeding disorders. Women will also build relationships between their Blood Sisters as they discuss course topics together and share their experiences as women with bleeding disorders. Women will be compensated for their time upon completion of the Academy.

How much time will the Academy take?

The Academy will run for four weeks from Oct. 26聽until Nov. 24, and participants can expect to spend 3.5 to 4 hours per week on the Academy (including coursework, live Q&A sessions, and discussions on course material with a small group of peers).

*WIRED is open to U.S. citizens and women ages 18+ only.聽
