HFA Continues Initiative with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA), a national nonprofit headquartered in Washington, DC, has been awarded year three of a five-year cooperative agreement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  The award allows HFA to continue its mission of assisting and advocating for individuals and families in the bleeding disorders community by further enhancing it’s education and services provided.

HFA launched the Health Promotion and Prevention initiative in 2014 with the first year of the cooperative agreement with CDC focusing on the
importance of joint health. Additional funding in year three will allow HFA to continue to focus on joint health education, but will also expand the scope of the project to include education and resources for women with bleeding disorders as well as inhibitor education.

Over the first two years of this project, we saw a positive, growing interest and need for programs that provide education and resources in our community. We’re proud to continue to serve individuals and families with bleeding disorders,” states Kimberly Haugstad, HFA Executive Director.
