At our 2024 Symposium in April, Hemophilia Federation of America held one of its annual in-person board meetings and welcomed its newest board members. This new slate of board of directors brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with bleeding disorders to the table. Meet some of our new board members:
Patricia Schake
Patty has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh and more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit management and behavioral health. Many members of her family have hemophilia B, so she is passionate about ensuring access to healthcare services and wellness for all. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing outside with our dog, reading and trying
new recipes.
Ashley Lacey
Ashley is a passionate public health professional and nurse who has spent most of her adulthood serving the bleeding disorder community in some capacity. This includes helping to plan women’s initiative events, chairing a fall festival, being on annual meeting planning committees, or serving on the board for her local chapter, Tennessee Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorder Foundation (THBDF). Professionally, she works as a Birth Center Manager to a free-standing birth center in Memphis as well as an Operating Room Registered Nurse. Ashley enjoys traveling, especially to the beach, listening to music, baking and spending time with family and friends.
Geneva Osteen
Born and raised in Florida, Geneva is a psychiatrist who works with chronically mentally ill patients. She completed her residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and went on to spend time working for the Indian Health Service in New Mexico and at state hospitals in Alaska and Hawaii. She’s back in Baltimore, where she lives with her husband and three children. She and her family love spending time with friends, trying new food, traveling and exploring their city, and Geneva likes to exercise, walk on the beach, read and travel.
We also welcomed Joe Pugliese, Kailey Townsend, Shanthi Hedge and Dave Huskie.
