We’re proud to announce that our three summer interns have recently completed the Bayer Hemophilia Leadership Development Program (BHLDP). All three distinguished themselves as future leaders in the bleeding disorders community through their hard work, enthusiasm and can-do spirit. The interns spent time both at Bayer and at local hemophilia advocacy organizations to round out their experiences.
Our BHLDP 2012 summer interns were:
- Amanda from University of Arizona, internship at the Arizona Hemophilia Association
- Lewis from Cornell University, internship at the Hemophilia Foundation of Upstate New York – Rochester
- Paige from Brigham Young University, internship at the Bleeding Disorders Alliance Illinois
The program that Amanda, Lewis and Paige just completed was an eight-week, paid internship for motivated, young individuals with ties to the bleeding disorders community. Interns participated in hands-on modules designed to sharpen leadership skills, as well as formal training in communications, compliance and problem-solving. Interns also spent time with mentors within Bayer to learn how the organization works and the importance of collaboration.
