We're off to the races!

ACTION ALERT: Vote Likely on Motion to Proceed

On Tuesday, the Senate will likely vote on a “Motion to Proceed,” which is the first step to open debate on health reform legislation. If the motion passes, they may consider a 2015 bill that will repeal parts of the Affordable Care Act without replacing it, or the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA), the recent Senate bill to repeal and replace the ACA. Either bill would reduce coverage, raise premiums for people with pre-existing conditions, and put at risk thousands of those with bleeding disorders that rely on Medicaid.
Over the past few months, we have asked you to call your Senators and let them know what you need in health care reform.  So far, grassroots advocacy and patients coming together from across the country have been the only actions delaying this bill.
It is vital that we keep making our voices heard as loudly and often as possible.  Even if you have already called and emailed, please call again.
Call your Senators to ask them to vote NO on the “Motion to Proceed” to open debate on the health reform bill!  If the upcoming “Motion to Proceed” to debate passes, health insurance and access to care for our entire community – and millions of people with chronic, pre-existing conditions – is at risk.
