As the nation continues to respond to the outbreak of COVID-19 we have made the difficult decision to postpone Symposium. We hope to announce a new date by the end of next week.
While we had hoped COVID-19 would not affect this beloved family event, our concern for the safety of our attendees, speakers and volunteers, along with the growing number of company-wide travel restrictions placed on vendors, HTC staff, exhibitors and session speakers, a number of attendee cancellations, and the unknown of any future cancellations or travel restrictions has led the executive committee and staff to make this decision.
What we know?
- Symposium will take place in 2020. The exact dates are unknown.
- Our original venue and host hotel will not change: Symposium will be at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor.
Your Next Steps:
Our staff will work with registered attendees, exhibitors, speakers and all stakeholders to make arrangements once a new date is determined.
For those who are already registered to attend, once we have confirmed new dates, you鈥檒l need to adjust your flights and hotel room. We鈥檒l help make this process smooth as possible as much as we can.
FLIGHTS: We recommend you do not cancel your flight but rather change/reschedule flight dates to avoid cancellation fees, depending on the airline’s policies on changes and cancellations. Some airlines are currently waiving these fees.
HOTEL ROOMS: We鈥檒l communicate any actions you need to take regarding hotel rooms that you鈥檝e booked once we have a new date.
REGISTRATION: No action is needed with your registration. All current registrations will be valid. If you’re not able to join us on the new dates due to scheduling conflicts, we will be offering refunds for registration fees.
SCHEDULED SPEAKERS: If you are scheduled to speak at Symposium, your planning coordinator will contact you directly with more information.
We appreciate the community’s understanding and patience. Planning for an event this size starts many years in advance, and a conference of this size requires a large number of hotel rooms, meeting space, and ballrooms to host meals and our exhibit hall: there are many moving pieces to consider.
