Ron Neiderman Humanitarian Award

This award is for extraordinary and inspirational service via one’s professional work or volunteer service, in memory of Ron Neiderman. Ron was a New Jersey native who had hemophilia and contracted HIV from the contaminated blood supply in the 1980s. He was an active member of the Hemophilia Association of New Jersey and a champion in the fight to make America’s blood supply safe for all. His pursuit of legal redress for the damage, suffering and death of community members was legendary. He was always willing and available to provide service and assistance to those in need.
Rich Pezzillo, Executive Director of the New England Hemophilia Association, goes above and beyond for the bleeding disorder community. Rich does everything in his power to help community members from feeling alone. Whether it’s lunch with a new family or a game of corn hole with a shy child at Family Camp, Rich makes every single person he meets feel important. From New Family and Spanish Heritage weekends, to Couples Retreats and Family Camp, Rich has made sure that his community has the programs and services that they need to thrive.
HFA is happy to present Rich with the Ron Neiderman Humanitarian Award.
