Since 2006, HFA has addressed the complex health complications of adult men with bleeding disorders by providing the Blood Brotherhood Program. This program offers a safe environment in which adults who identify as male with bleeding disorders can share their experiences and knowledge about health and quality of life issues. Blood Brothers receive education and social support to enhance their coping skills while improving their health. HFA’s Blood Brotherhood Program reaches over 800 adults who identify as male each year at local member organizations and online.
HFA is hosting a Blood Brotherhood Camp Out for 30 adult men (age 21+) at the Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia Thursday, October 27th through Sunday, October 30th, 2022. This national event for adult men with bleeding disorders includes a weekend of education, peer support, outdoor activities, and teambuilding (think back to your years at camp!). Attendees will also have time to enjoy their time in Northern Virginia.
This year’s Blood Brotherhood Camp Out ’22 will be held at Lansdowne Resort, located 15-20 minutes from Dulles International Airport (IAD). HFA will arrange ground transportation for attendees.
Travel and lodging will be provided by the Hemophilia Federation of America on a scholarship basis.
Registration is limited to 30 adults who identify as male with diagnosed bleeding disorders to attend the Blood Brotherhood Camp Out ’22. Registration will close once we reach capacity, and attendees will be accepted on a rolling basis. Spouses/partners, and/or other family members will not be allowed to attend. Preference will be given to first-time Camp Out attendees.
