Hemophilia patients are generally satisfied with their treatment but are more than willing to try something better. That’s the consensus from a recent survey by Pfizer and the Harris Poll.
According to the global survey of 1,000 people with hemophilia, 84 % of those asked said they were either somewhat or very satisfied with their treatment regimen. When asked further many respondents said that current restraints such as declining vein access, lack of spontaneity and impact on social lives remain their top barriers.
Roughly the same percentage asked said key priorities in considering switching treatment was improved efficacy, easier administration and real-world evidence.
Many patients said they were keen on new treatments coming online, including gene therapies, echoing similar results from a recent survey of Hematologists.
