Kevin Child was one month short of college graduation when he died of complications from AIDS in 1989. In his memory, and to acknowledge how living with hemophilia can pose challenges in seeking higher education, the Child family established the Kevin Child Scholarship. This scholarship awards $1,000 to a U.S. student with hemophilia A or B who aspires to attend college or vocational school, to a matriculating college/univ/vocational student, or to an eligible individual in pursuit of a post-secondary degree.
Kevin Child Scholarship applications are only being accepted by email. Please email your completed application to Jonathan Angarola (jangarola@bleeding.org) by June 5, 2026. If you have already mailed in your application, please contact Jonathan by email to confirm your materials have been received.
The Kevin Child Scholarship has been bestowing awards annually since 1990. It is only made possible through the generosity of individual donations.
