Job Readiness Grants

The Job Readiness Grant provides up to $1,000 for courses, training programs, or certifications that will help community members gain or maintain sustainable employment. The grant can include computers or items (i.e., scrubs, specialized shoes, supplies, etc.) needed to complete the course, certification, or training program. Applications are processed as soon as they are received.


  • Have a bleeding disorder or are a carrier
  • An adult between 18 to 64 years old
  • Seeking assistance for a skills course, training program, or certification (college courses will be considered)
  • Cannot be a past recipient of a Job Readiness Grant, an HFA board member, an HFA staff member, or the immediate family members of HFA board or staff members

Applications must include

  • Completed online application
  • A brief statement of need explaining the impact of your bleeding disorder and barriers to employment and how the specific course/training program/certification will help you gain or keep sustainable employment. If you are requesting a computer or items, please specify the need for those and how they will help you complete the course, training program, or certification.
