Symposium 2021 Registration is Now Open!

Join family, friends and your HFA community. This event is 100% online and free to attend. After the challenges of 2020, we will address the current issues facing parents, adult men and women, young adults, and kids in our bleeding disorders community. The HFA team is bringing you the latest information on medicine and technology, mental health care, Spanish resources, access to financial resources, barriers to care, and so much more. Symposium 2021 Research Poster Abstracts Due August 16

In an effort to make research findings more accessible to patients and caregivers who have an interest and who participate in research projects and initiatives, HFA is inviting you to disseminate your research findings to patients and/or their caregivers in an atmosphere that is comfortable and encourages one-on-one opportunities for questions and dialogue. The Research Poster Session will take place during our Virtual Symposium on Tuesday, October 26th from 8:00-9:00 pm ET. Posters and videos will be available for attendee viewing through the entire Symposium.

BioMatrix Educational Scholarships Due August 1

Each year, BioMatrix offers six (6) $1000 scholarships to college students in our bleeding disorders community. Each scholarship has a unique eligibility requirement based on the applicant鈥檚 bleeding disorder or relationship to someone with a bleeding disorder.

Every year, HFA holds an inspiring and fun Young Adult Advocacy Summit (YAAS) in Washington, DC. In 2020, we were virtual, but we are so pleased to announced that we are back in person this September 18 - 21! Participants must apply to attend. Applications are due by Friday, August 13. Ride the C&O Trail from West Virginia to DC: September 17-19

HFA's Team Resilience is back on the bikes! Join us in-person or virtually as we saddle up for 165 miles of gorgeous C&O Trail scenery from West Virginia to DC. Our rides come with awesome SAG support, and we take breaks every 15-20 miles. Funds support our bleeding disorders community. Hurry! Registration closes August 20th.

Mental Health First Aid Training: September 25

We are offering free Mental Health First Aid training through the National Council for Behavioral Health. Participants will receive a Mental Health First Aid certificate indicating they have been trained to recognize the signs and symptoms of common mental health and substance abuse challenges.

Better Together

HFA and the National Hemophilia Foundation are pleased to share a new partnership: the Together Project. HFA and NHF will collaborate on important issues that affect the bleeding disorders community. The first collaboration is focused on mental health and wellness in the bleeding disorders community, raising awareness, providing resources and sharing coordinated messaging.
